I have been working at HAVEN for the past 3 years. In that time I have worked with very inspiring people working through traumatic events. I have seen the programs put on by our Educations in the Safe Kids Strong Teen presentations. We need the help of everyone to demonstrate that we support NO MORE Violence to the children, women and men who are impacted by domestic violence, sexual abuse and stalking because No One Deserves to be Hurt! Be consideration a donation of at least $10 to this worthy cause.
On July 1st, 2015, after more than 35 years working side by side, A Safe Place and SASS (Sexual Assault Support Services) officially merged and combined their strengths and experience to serve more individuals than ever before. The same dedicated staff, volunteers, and Board members of the separate organizations are working together to increase their collective impact and reach across Southeastern New Hampshire. We have never been more poised to eliminate domestic and sexual violence in our communities than we are today.
Over the years, A Safe Place and SASS saw countless numbers of people who benefited from the services of the two agencies but also saw the challenges and inefficiencies that arose as individuals sought help at one agency only to be referred to the other. Our decision to merge reflects our vision for the future where individuals can seek comprehensive services, experience limited barriers to support, and begin their journey forward with stronger, more stable footing.

Did YOU know?
Last year, A Safe Place and SASS received over 10,000 hotline calls. Although it may seem like a large number, HAVEN’s catchment includes approximately 400,000 women, men and children in Southeastern NH.
In September of 2014, the shelter turned away 15 mothers and 12 kids due to capacity. When there is no room to provide safe shelter, the agency will do whatever it can to help connect victims and survivors to another shelter in the State.
There are 40,000 school-aged children in Southeastern NH but due to funding only 10,000 kids are able to participate in the Safe Kids Strong Teens violence prevention education and awareness program. Most may not know that 80% of the costs to provide the Safe Kids Strong Teens is supported through individual and corporate donors.
We are HAVEN
Our mission is to prevent sexual assault, domestic violence and stalking, and to support and empower women, men, youth and families to heal from abuse and rebuild their lives.
As we look forward to a new era as HAVEN, the largest crisis agency in the state of New Hampshire, we know that reintroducing our agency and our vision for improved and expanded services for the community is essential.
