On July 1st, 2015, after more than 35 years working side by side, A Safe Place and SASS (Sexual Assault Support Services) officially merged and combined their strengths and experience to serve more individuals than ever before. The same dedicated staff, volunteers, and Board members of the separate organizations are working together to increase their collective impact and reach across Southeastern New Hampshire. We have never been more poised to eliminate domestic and sexual violence in our communities than we are today.
Our mission is to prevent sexual assault, domestic violence and stalking, and to support and empower women, men, youth and families to heal from abuse and rebuild their lives.
I joined the board for SASS back in 2011 and am thrilled with the merger to form HAVEN. As a family physician, I see the effects of violence every day in my office and I love that this organization works to not only care for those who have experienced sexual or domestic violence, but also to prevent it through their amazing education programs in our local schools. I am so proud of this group of people and hope you can help me to support them in what they do for all of us!
