I am raising money for my 16 year old sister to get into a mental illness treatment program at Newport Academy to prevent another suicide attempt.
Hayley Walker is a wonderful, smart, and beautiful girl with so much potential to do good in the world. She is a straight A student, girl scout for the past 12 years, and an avid reader. She has a part time job as a barista (which she LOVES) and she is a go-to for puppy sitting (she is our dog's favorite sitter).
Somewhere along the way, Hayley started battling with depression and anxiety. She began seeing a therapist every week, but in January she tried to commit suicide. Most recently she spent 72 hours in a behavioral treatment center because she was deemed a danger to herself.
This fundraiser is to get my sister the help she needs and to help my family heal from this experience. All of the money raised will go to Hayley's tuition for Newport Academy. I can only imagine that once Hayley goes through this healing process she will want to help others who are battling the same things she is. And myself and my family can be a support group for other families who are going through similar situations.
Newport Academy is a state-of-the-art treatment facility. Hayley will have many hours of individual therapy, small group therapy, and family therapy. Yoga, music, and Equine Assisted therapy are available tools. The grounds are beautiful, they serve real food, and they give the attention these teens need. Newport Academy is in the top ten treatment centers and has very high success rates.
