This page is to raise funds supporting the HBCU Unity Team from Pi Alpha Omega.
Pi Alpha Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. has been challenged to do the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge by Upsilon Alpha Omega chapter, and we have accepted that challenge. In order to tie this challenge into the current programs, we are having our first HBCU Soror Roundup activity for Target I: Educational Enrichment.
We are the HBCU Unity Team hailing from various HBCU's across the country!
I'm sure by now everyone has heard of the ALS ice bucket challenge supporting research for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), or "Lou Gehrig's Disease". Now it's our turn to help raise funds for this disease.
ALS is a terrible debilitating disease that affects our community. We have enhanced this challenge to be even more impactful to our focus on HBCU Preservation and Growth. The money raised through this challenge will be split between ALS and Spelman College in celebration of their 100th Anniversary, to aid the Atlanta Chapter of the National Alumnae Association in providing more scholarships to Spelman students.
Let's rally around Spelman College and our Spelman Sisters for this momentous celebration.
The goal is for each team member to raise at least $50.
The HBCU team that raises the most funds for ALS will be recognized at September's chapter meeting.
Our challenge will culminate at our September Chapter meeting on 9/27/14, when all the brave Sorors that will accept the Ice-bucket challenge will do so, TOGETHER, as one Big PAO Ice-Bucket Challenge Team.
Here is the ALS website that explains the ice bucket challenge for those who may not have heard of it yet. http://www.alsa.org/fight-als/ice-bucket-challenge.html
COME ON HBCU UNITY TEAM! LET’S RAISE THE MOST MONEY!!
