HBOT for Eli's Autism Recovery
Organized by: Danielle Sanders
I am raising money for my 9 yr old son, Elijah. Elijah was diagnosed with autism at the age of 2. Until about 18 months ago, he had only received minimal therapy through the county that we live in. This was due in part to our family needing two incomes to stay afloat during the recession and having time conflicts between our working hours and private therapy hours of operation. It was also due in part to our state not covering any therapy specifically geared for autism under insurance. Then, about 18 months ago, we came across a detox protocol that we thought made sense and wanted to try. Before we started the protocol, we gave a survey, called an ATEC, on our son. In June 2014, he scored a 52. In his most recent ATEC, given by his parents, and his classroom and IEP teachers in December 2015, (to God be the glory) he scored a 10! A score between 0-10 means although you may still have some issues related to autism, you technically no longer display symptoms severe enough to qualify as having autism. This is where HBOT therapy comes in. It is a small, but very important and very expensive, part of this protocol (that health insurance does not cover for autism therapy in our state). Our hopes and dreams for our son is the same as any parent - to give him the best foundation we can give him, so he can live the best life he can live for the rest of his life. For us, that would include for Eli to be healed to full health and strength. We would like to keep going with this detox protocol, but each HBOT session costs $1,200. Multiplied by 20 sessions, you can see how it results to $24,000. Your donation (no matter how big or small) will go to helping us pay for this therapy for our son. He has come such a long way. It would mean a permanent, lifelong difference in his quality of life. Thank you for taking your time to read about Eli's situation and for considering helping him. God bless you.
