Please join me and members of my family on Saturday, November 2 at 12noon for a walk along the Chester Valley Trail as we join in walks happening all around the world on the same day. All funds benefit No Stomach For Cancer. Please consider a donation to this wonderful organization that does an amazing job of helping raise awareness, raise funds for important research, and raise spirits to all those affected by all types of gastric cancers.
As most of you know, myself, and other members of my family, have been directly affected by a particular kind, called Hereditary Diffuse Gastric Cancer (HDGC) which is caused by a genetic mutation. In October 2006, I had my stomach removed as a preventive measure due to the very high risk that I could have one day developed this deadly cancer. Although I still have a risk of a certain type of breast cancer, which I keep a close eye on, I am very happy to say that now my risk for HDGC is reduced to zero!
Any money you can donate will help to bring on better research so that hopefully someday there are other options besides removing one's stomach, or better screenings that can catch the disease at an early stage, or maybe even a cure!! You never know! At the very least, please know that you are supporting a great organization that does a ton of work for "the cause" and has made great strides in recent years.
Thanks so much on behalf of myself, my family, and No Stomach for Cancer.
