BENEFITING: Harlem Educational Activities Fund, Inc.
The HEAF Junior Board is on a mission to raise $5,000 by May 31 for the HEAF five week intensive summer 2017 educational program known as “Summer Quest”. Summer Quest’s mission is to ignite intellectual curiosity, and to cultivate academic development through a variety of inquiry and project-based enrichment and outstanding elective classes. But they need lots of "stuff" and supplies in order to make the program run successfully, and here's how we can come in to help!
During Summer Quest, mornings are spent in Math and ELA classes designed to expose students to Common Core Standards in creative and interactive ways that cultivate a love of learning. In the afternoon, students select elective classes that expose them to cutting edge topics like coding, 3D printing, entrepreneurship, graphic design, and inquiry based science projects. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to attend weekly trips and participate in outdoor activities promoting physical enhancement.
Our goal is to offer 160 students across 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th grade an incredible summer filled with learning, creativity and fun - all while helping to ensure they will have a competitive advantage for the upcoming school year.
All proceeds raised here in our "Stock Summer Quest with Your Support" campaign will go towards supporting the 2017 Summer Quest program.
