My wife, Erika, and I were recently led by God to found Definitive Services Group, (, a contracting company with a social enterprise focused mission. It is written on both our hearts to give to those in need, that which He has so graciously provided for us, including the fruits of our talents and abilities, through initiatives like DSG Next Step.

I am so proud to announce that we have been challenged with the opportunity of taking our team of skilled personnel on a mission trip to Haiti, where we will share our skills and capabilities in a truly unique undertaking: building an Aquaponic Fish Farm for the remarkable non-profit, Healing Haiti (

Erika is currently involved with her sister's difference-making non-profit venture, 3seams (, an organization dedicated to job creation in Haiti, and over the past year-or-so, the 3seams team has developed a close working relationship with Healing Haiti, a Twin Cities-founded, faith-based mission operating in Cite Soleil, Port-au-Prince and Titanyen, Haiti.

Though Haiti is located only 90 minutes from the United States, it is the poorest country in the western hemisphere. Nearly every week of the year, Healing Haiti brings a group of volunteers down to Haiti to support their mission. Their efforts focus on improving the lives of the impoverished people of Haiti with a focus on children, families and the elderly - providing clean water, food, housing and education.

Recently, Healing Haiti completed construction of Grace Village, which houses forty of the orphans they care for. They are now planning to build the Aquaponic Fish Farm, which will allow them to raise tilapia and grown vegetables hydroponically for the orphanage and feeding center. This distinctive project will employ “green” practices, provides employment for people in Haiti, and will improve the diets of children suffering from a lack of protein and other necessary nutrients.

In order to be successfully completed, the initiative needs the help of the DSG Next Step team, and we, in turn, need yours. We are launching this fundraising effort to help defer the cost of this mission trip. The money we raise will help cover airfare, immunizations, expedited passport fees, the cost of getting proper equipment and tools to Haiti, and other miscellaneous costs associated with our service to this project. Currently we have a goal of raising $7500 to cover these expenses for our team.

The trip is coming up fast: April 30th – May 7th, so we're a little behind the 8-ball here. Any and all donations are tax deductible AND are greatly appreciated! Also, please pass this information on to anyone you know and ask them to do the same. When word gets spread exponentially, I believe God will provide and we will reach our financial goal. Then we can truly make a lasting difference in the lives of orphaned or street children living in poverty.

Time is running short, so please don't wait!

Thank you ever-so-much for your prayerful consideration of this opportunity to help.
