Kansas City, Missouri See More

I worked as a nurse for elderly and hospice for 37 years. I took care of others, but not myself. Nurses don't always have good benefits... Sad but True. I had to retire on disability because of unfortunate circumstances. The company I worked for (Hospice) was crumbling, I was the only nurse for 2 weeks, 24/7, for a 300 mile radius in the Midwest in July. I had a couple of days I didn't sleep because I was with a patient who was in need. It was Hot, I didn't drink enough, no Sleep, Stressed and ultimately I totally dehydrated, I died inside, literally! I was in the hospital for months with a bypass to my mesenteric artery. My heart stopped a few times. I'm left with incredible pain at times but I'm blessed to be here. Only 1% of the population Survives the type of dehydration I experienced. Only 1% of the population survive the bypass surgery I had to have. I'm pretty sure I'm suppose to be here! Long Story Short. Every Patient we had was seen in those 2 weeks and no one was alone during their time of need. The only benefit I had was my 401k. I had to use it to survive the 2 years they have you go without income before getting disability... My grandchild lives here and she comes first. What I'm seeking funds for May seem kinda self indulgence and maybe they are. We have "enough" we have a home, we have food. We are blessed. My bucket list of things I can't afford are 1. Dental Care. 2. Bathroom Repair 3. New Shoes 4. Nutra bullet (for my diet needed to survive related to the mesenteric artery bypass) 5. I'd like to Help some area low income families with children. Buying bikes for kids, books for kids to read at home. Clothing for low income kids.
