Indonesia is one of development countries in South East Asia with population 237.000.000 peoples. Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistic’s report in 2015 the number of poor people in March 2015 period as many as 28.59 million people in both urban and rural, the poor are those with monthly expenditure below 300 thousand rupiah per person or about 23.1 USD. The middle class achieve 45 million people, the middle class refers to those with monthly expenditure of at least 1 million rupiah per person or about 76.8 USD. World Bank noted in Indonesian society welfare inequality has widened. Even the level of inequality in Indonesia drove the fastest among neighboring countries in East Asia. Life insurance policy holders in Indonesia is around 16.75 million people or 13.9 percent of the 237 million population of Indonesia. This is a very poor statistic rather than other countries in South East Asia, let say Singapore where the life insurance policy holders is 300 percent. Indonesia have an obligation that Indonesia citizen must registered in a government’s Social Security Administrator (Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Sosial/BPJS). Indonesian citizen must pay monthly dues along their life time as much 59.5 thousand rupiah for the first class, 42.5 thousand rupiah for the second class and 25.5 thousand rupiah for the third (lowest) class, they will get a health card where they can get free health services in the clinics and hospitals. Hospitals must accept the BPJS patients, if hospital refuse BPJS patient government will give amercements starting from fines to revocation of the hospital license. In Jakarta, capital city of Indonesia, with 59.5 thousand rupiah you can get a cup of coffee in Starbuck, or two burgers, or a low quality T-shirt, now you have an imaging how cheap BPJS monthly dues. No wonder there are so many cases of BPJS patients rejection in the hospital. The hospital received very small margin, and the government also make payments in stages. I got that experience, almost two years ago, my grandmother's sister suffered from chronic liver disease for 7 years, when she was in critical condition and unconscious, her daughter and her son-in-law brought her to the hospital, and she was rejected by five different hospitals. They were asked to wait for a call from the hospital at any time if there are available rooms, but eventually grandmother died at home, and never got a call from the hospital. Since December 2015 while providing insurance education door to door to the people, I also studied how the views and interest of the Indonesian about insurance (besides BPJS), in fact they are understand and realize that insurance is very important and that insurance is a need. But when their monthly expenditure is only about 23.1 - 76.8 USD per month, it means they will not have enough money to buy an insurance policy. Not intend to disrespect the government with its BPJS program, after my research of the views and interests of the Indonesian people about insurance (besides BPJS), it inspires me to do fundraising for orphans to pay unit linked insurance, with the hope that those unlucky children can get protection and good service when they are ill, and good investment results several years later that they can use for higher education or start a business. I also have a plan to create a short course institution based on entrepreneurship so that at the end of the investment period, those orphans required to go through the course and coaching in accordance with their entrepreneurial interest. I belive that it is an extraordinary program, we sought so that the orphans can get through their day-to-day with good protection, and when they grow they can get entrepreneurial courses and coach, at last they will get the capital for business. There are many institutions that protects and raises orphans in their buildings, but they are just giving a house to them. How many people or institutions that protect and raise orphans as well as designing their future? Less, perhaps almost nothing. Therefore I expect the support of all of you. I will always report how many donations collected, how many the insurance policy can be paid, how the children selection and soon. The target of fundraising achievement for period 1 ( March-June 2015) is as much as 23100 USD for 50 orphans with a minimum age of 1 year and a maximum of 8 years, as well as the procurement of legality. Thank you for passing by and reading this page.
