BENEFITING: Rivers of the World
Children and families living in bateys (sugar cane camps) in LaRomana, Dominican Republic are rarely able to afford even basic healthcare. Rivers of the World (ROW) is all too aware of this and get as many medical teams down to provide healthcare for these people. We go to them!! While ROW is able to send teams, we can send even more on a more frequent basis with help from you!
$20 provides healthcare for 1 child - 1 single mother - 1 grandmother raising grandkids on her own - 1 person in pain with no relief!
$1000 will provide for 50 children! ROW would like to raise as many funds as possible for this project so that we can send even more medical teams down!
May of 2013 we sent our most recent medical team down. In 5 days these nurses and doctors saw over 500 patients!! Ailments ranged from worms to toothaches to gangrene! All whom would have suffered longer or may have never seen any healthcare if it weren't for the help of people like you! There are dozens of the batey communities in LaRomana and other parts of Dominican Republic - we have our work cut out for us!
