THE STORY:

UPDATE-Our waiting list of veterans and active duty wanting to go through our Heal The Warriors Program is getting bigger. Marvin is at the top of our list.
Marvin is an army veteran who was involved in a blast in 2002. Since then he has been left with a seizure disorder, daily headaches, speech problems, sleeping disorder, memory delay, depression and constant pain. This has more than impacted his everyday life. It has impacted his family, lead to divorce, and the inability to have fun with his children and hold a job.
What does Marvin want out of the Heal the Warriors program?
He is hoping to get off of the many medications he is taking everyday, improve enough to be seizure free, and most of all, he just wants to be able to enjoy life again.
Any donation helps. Let's get Marvin the treatment he and so many others so desperately need and deserve!

Close to one million combat veterans involved in blasts suffer from post-concussive syndrome or mild traumatic brain injury. The current treatment for mild traumatic brain injury consists of drug therapy to mask the myriad symptoms that come along with it. Symptoms include memory loss, cognitive impairment, headaches or migraines, depression and anxiety. These symptoms can lead to major issues like job loss, homelessness, divorce and even suicide. The symptoms of mild traumatic brain injury often overlap with those of PTSD. Additionally, many diagnosed with PTSD may very well have mild traumatic brain injury, as well.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy has been used since the 1960's to help with neurological conditions and is showing more and more benefit for those suffering with mild traumatic brain injury and post-concussive syndrome. However, it is not yet recognized by Medicare/Medicaid as an approve indication and is still considered "off-label". Though there are 5 studies indicating that Hyperbaric oxygen (HBOT) is an effective therapy, more studies are needed before it is considered mainstream medicine. In the meantime, thousands of our military families will continue to suffer. We must step in and help these families get access to treatments that help them heal.
Heal the Warriors 8 week program consists of hyperbaric oxygen therapy to help heal the physical injury in the brain along with nutritional counseling, therapy, cognitive testing, brain training, art therapy and much more to help with both the physical and emotional aspects of the injury. Our program also includes membership to the Renova Wellness Club, caregiving workshops and other adjunctive therapies for the family/caregivers, as well.
With your help our injured troops can get the treatment they desperately need and deserve to become whole again.
Our 8 week program with all of the above included costs $9,650 per veteran/soldier and family. Thanks to organizations like America's Mighty Warriors and Navy Cruisers Association, veterans are receiving treatment right now and finally finding relief. Now we need your help. As our families are sharing their experiences, our waiting list is growing. Please donate today. Our troops have sacrificed so much for the freedom we experience every day, please return the favor and sponsor all or part of their treatment today.
