THE STORY:

Dec. 23, 2009 I had open-heart surgery to repair a serious and complex Congenital Heart Defect (CHD) called Mitral Valve Prolapse (MVP) with 40% Mitral Regurgitation. With more than 40% of my blood leaking backwards, I was lucky to be a live. My CHD went undetected my entire life and was not found until Oct. 22, 2009. I also have a dangerous Arrhythmia called Polymorphic Ventricular Tachycardia. It is like I have a ticking time bomb in my chest. CHD defines who I am now, but I refuse to let it define my limitations. Therefore.......

CHD Survivor will run the 2010 New York City Marathon on Nov, 7 just 10 months after having open-heart surgery.

Join me in my efforts to raise funds for the American Heart Association to fight Congenital Heart Defects (CHD) especially in children.

2011 - Ironman Florida!
