We need your help to steward the mission of Heathcote Botanical Gardens to preserve this beloved community asset for today and future generations.
From the first public botanical garden in St. Lucie County Florida, started by the original “Band of Five” women who led the charge to save a 30-year-old nursery from encroaching urbanization, to the invaluable gift for the entire community that it is today, Heathcote Botanical Gardens continues to grow and follow it's mission to serve as a resource of horticultural, botanical and ecological knowledge—to educate the public by maintaining a collection of quality plants, and by providing cultural, educational and recreational activities that attract constituents from a broad geographical region.
Heathcote Botanical Gardens is committed to the conservation of green space by serving as a partner to the greenways system along the Treasure Coast, by demonstrating the highest standard of environmental sensitivity in a public garden and park.
Please help us with our ongoing operational expenses of maintaining our colorful garden galleries, including The James J. Smith Tropical Bonsai Collection, meditative space, Pioneer House, tropical rain forest, as well as our plans to create a
Learning Landscape for the Children’s Garden and preparing for our next generation of visitors.
