I’m the CEO and co-founder of Catapult Design, a non-profit product design firm working with organizations around the world on tools and technologies for impoverished communities. A little about me: Earlier in my career I led a volunteer group of engineers and designers working on humanitarian design projects through Engineers Without Borders (EWB). I’ve been named a Pop!Tech Social Innovation Fellow, a program aimed at high-potential young leaders with new approaches for transformational impact, and a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader for my work with Catapult Design and EWB. In what feels like another life, I spent six years working in Silicon Valley as a product development consultant working on things like remote controls and TVs. I started Catapult out of sheer conviction for all the plastic parts I created while working in Silicon Valley. Finally, I also teach! I used to be an Adjunct Lecturer at Stanford University teaching “Design for Sustainability” and currently have a Senior Lecturer position at CCA in San Francisco in the Industrial Design department. I have a BS in Product Design from Stanford University.
Despite my wallflower tendencies, I’m a networker. Worldwide networks and connections are an imperative part of what makes Catapult successful. I've been invited to Summit at Sea event taking place on April 8 - April 11 and pretty excited about the connections there that could enhance Catapult’s work. Summit at Sea awards females for their outstanding ideas, work and passion. Please donate any amount to help me attend the event. It is much appreciated!
Thank you everyone for your help in getting me to Summit at Sea! Looking forward to being part of such a crazy supportive community.
