BENEFITING: Boston Health Care For The Homeless Program Inc
Boston Healthcare for the Homeless Program (BHCHP) is one of the first organizations in the country to address a serious need: healthcare for the homeless. BHCHP offers healthcare services that are continuously adapting to the needs of Boston's homeless population and works in collaboration with hospitals, shelters, food pantries, and other organizations to ensure that services for the Boston homeless population are efficient, effective, and accessible. I became involved with BHCHP after attending an inspirational speech and presentation by Dr. Jim O'Connell, the founding physician of BHCHP, in the fall of 2014. I toured Jean Yawkey Place, BHCHP's homebase where homeless patients have access to premium healthcare services, and had the opportunity to attend rounds on the streets of Boston with BHCHP clinicians delivering direct patient care. After witnessing the dedication of the BHCHP team and the excellent patient care and clinician-patient relationships, I joined the BHCHP Emerging Leaders Board. My goal is to raise at least $1000 for BHCHP by August 2016. Even a few dollars can make a difference in providing and improving healthcare for the growing homeless population in Boston. Thank you for your support!
