Heather's Missions Trip to England
Organized by: Heather Honeycutt
EVENT DATE May 29, 2016
Hello friends, family, and acquaintances! I am Heather Honeycutt and I am a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Graduate Student at Liberty University, and the time has come for me to tell you all about my dream/plan to go to England this summer for a 10 week missions trip/internship!
This particular internship is through UK-USA Ministries and their overall goal is to spread knowledge of the Gospel of Christ to a culture that is experiencing a great spiritual drought. I would be working with a specific church in one of the many communities in England, helping them reach out to the youth and evangelize to them as well as their families and many others in the community in order to let them know of the amazing saving grace and eternal life that is only possible with Jesus Christ. I would be actively helping in the process of making disciples in other parts of the world, as we are commanded to do in Matthew 28:19: "Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit." If you wish to learn more about this amazing ministry and what I would be doing with them, their website is: http://www.uk-usaministries.com/.
The money I need will cover UK fixed living expenses (food, utilities, in-country ministry, transport), my flights there and back, as well as any other expenses the trip requires. I would be leaving in May and returning in August, so the funds need to be in by the middle of May to be safe and ensure that all the money is raised in time for me to leave.
It would be amazing if I had the chance to experience the culture of England, but what is far more important is the opportunity to meet and build relationships with the youth and adults there as well as with the people I will be working alongside in the church and in the ministry. I have a strong desire to meet other people around the world, learn their stories and about their walks of life and meet them where they are at and show them the love of Christ as it has been shown to me. It has been a long-term dream of mine to experience and learn about the different cultures of this world, so that I may be able to better follow the command mentioned before in making disciples. This would also be a great challenge to my personal faith, giving me a chance to really grow and rely on Him to reach others through me and use me how He sees fit. I will also be learning much through the people I work with and even the youth of England!!
I would be forever grateful for your donations in making this dream/missions trip a reality. Every little bit helps, including your prayers and support!! As I said before, it has been a long standing dream to go on a missions trip, and everything about this one just screamed that it was the perfect first one for me. I deeply appreciate your sacrifice in helping me to achieve this dream and God bless you all!!
Love, Heather Honeycutt
