THE STORY:

An amazing women was born on January 28, 1912. She passed away on September 1, 2011 at the age of 99.

She was the most selfless person I have ever met. She took care of her mom and dad when they were sick at the end of their lives. She also raised my dad, me and my three siblings and helped raise my three children and my sister's child. She lost her sight 15 years ago and still managed to do everything with the children.  We never had a car growing up so we did everything on the bus.

I am amazed at how she did everything with very limited money. She always provided us with everything we needed. Two years ago she had a sudden onset of dementia. It was hard to watch the pillar of strength that we had known become dependant on us for care.  We all though she was invinsible.

Her one goal in life was to keep the house that her grandfather had built and that she had lived in her whole life in the family. We are trying to make sure this happens.

The house is very old and needs some major repairs. We have put the house in Trust but can't even get insurance on it because of electrical problems, roof issues and many more items.

I quit my job to take care of her full time since May so I don't have the money to make these repairs.

My goal is to raise enough money to fix everything with this house so that I can keep it in the family like she wanted. This is my way of trying to celebrate her memory and pay her back for everything she has done for me.

If you can find it in your heart to help me, I would forever be grateful. I feel guilty that I can't do this on my own. I have never asked for help from anyone and it kills me to do it now but I need to make this happen. I could not live with myself knowing I let her down. I just can't lose this house.

Thank you in advance for your consideration.
