I was first exposed to the ugliness of ovarian cancer when a high school friend passed in her early 20's. I will always remember Rachel for her courage and strength and HOPE. I couldn't believe that cancer could take someone so young and full of life. But seeing those wonderful qualities from Rachel gave me the strength I would need to use later on-
As I'm sure you know by now, my mom battled ovarian cancer for three and a half years before she earned her angel wings. She was such a fighter and an inspiration to SO many. As I stood by her through the years, I was blessed to meet so many other survivors and families and have witnessed the coming together for a common goal: to raise awareness of ovarian cancer symptoms to help people receive early diagnosis and treatment with the HOPE of saving lives!! I will continue to do all I can for this cause and for GOCA who has been there for us and so many others, as we continue to spread the word and raise money for the cause and I will do this IN HONOR OF MY MOM!!
