Help Amanda and Quinn move
Organized by: Amanda Kay
Due to a family crisis, Quinn and I have been put into a position where we need to find a new place to live as soon as possible. Currently our $800 rent apartment is not something that we can afford. It is likely that our landlord will evict us, so in the meantime I would like to be able to have another apartment to move into rather than stay in a shelter . I am currently looking at an apartment in Buffalo, she is requiring a $625 down payment and it is available on June 1. As most of you know I do not have support of family members that I can stay with nor do I have any when I can borrow money from. Because of my current situation my income has been greatly reduced, I have literally applied to every government assistance program that is available and have been turned down because I am working. I applied for cash assistance and welfare and do not qualify for either because I am currently working. Even though my income is extremely low and I cannot support myself and my daughter while living in this apartment I still do not qualify for assistance unless I am on disability or not working at all. And this is why I am asking for help. If I am not able to get out of this apartment and into another house then we will be looking into shelters .I want to do everything I possibly can to stay out of that scenario because of Quinn.
