Help an ex-soldier battle PTSD
Organized by: Sarah Bergman
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that's triggered by a terrifying event. Symptoms include flashbacks, nightmares and severe anxiety. An old friend of mine who went into the army young had planned on it being his life time career. He charted one of the quickest routes to Sergeant through his willingness to step up, his leadership, bravery and determination. He served on the front lines, was seriously injured after more than a decade of serving but before he had banked sufficient years to warrant the full pension. He is battling PTSD and has been surviving on his own, but is now at risk of losing his home as he struggles to find re-training or work to help him maintain the basic necessities of life we take for granted. Please help me secure a roof over his head so that he does not end up on the streets like so many other veterans.
