You've probably seen the photos of the Indigenous Peoples' Education Center at the Kiangan Central School, where artifacts recovered by the IAP is being exhibited. Thanks to Marlon and the SITMo Boys, our goal of reaching out a broader swath of Ifugao and Philippine communities is now coming to fruition. Some of you probably know that expenses of the exhibit (materials plus other artifacts) were provided by small donations. . I know for a fact that Marlon and the SITMo volunteers used their own resources (time and funds) to make this happen. But there is more work to do, especially on the other two galleries that have yet to be worked on. I am wondering if you (IAP Alumni and friends) can pitch in to help with the expenses for the other two galleries. The Prehistory Gallery only cost $1000 to install, but if your generous contribution exceeds this amount it will go towards making the galleries self-sustaining and a source of income for various Ifugao stakeholders. Entrance fee for non-local tourists, a store that sells local products, etc.
If you are new to Ifugao, check out these awesome groups who are preserving priceless history and traditional knowledge.
