I have reached my second month after treatment!
February 08, 2017
I was diagnosed 16 years ago with the Lung Disease - Sarcoidosis. Sarcoidosis is a chronic, inflammatory disease which has caused my lungs to be covered with scar tissue. The air and blood cannot flow through the lungs which results in severe shortness of breath. The disease is incurable and has caused me to have a poor quality of life. I had to retire in 2007 when I was diagnosed with a second lung disease - pulmonary hypertension. The two diseases together created a hardship and I could no longer work. Both diseases are debilitating and have continued to get worse with each passing year. I am currently at Stage 4 of Sarcoidosis which is the end stage. I attempted to get listed for a lung transplant; however, I do not meet the criteria. Mobility is a major deterrrent; I am unable to move about without portable oxygen and lately, even walking short distances is extremely difficult. I am on an oxygen machine 24/7. I have spent time researching alternative treatment options since traditional medicine are not providing sufficient results. I discovered Stem Cell Therapy at the Lung Institute in Pittsburgh, PA. There has been demonstrated success in patients with similar lung diseases. The therapy costs $7500 per sesssion. Due to the severity of my lungs I will need at least two sessions. The cost is NOT covered by insurance. Friends and family have inquired about they can help me with this health battle so I have established this fund raising site. ALL money raised will be used for the cost of the therapy and expenses associated with travel to Pittsburgh. The Best gift you can offer me at this time is a chance to improve my breathing.
