BENEFITING: SANKARA EYE FOUNDATION USA
EVENT DATE: May 01, 2017
In an effort to help eradicate curable blindness in India, I am beginning the 5th Annual month-long initiative to donate funds through the Sankara Eye Foundation. This is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to realize the goal of 20/20 vision for the poorest people in India by the year 2020.
Unfortunately, those who live in rural India do not know that “curable blindness”, such as Cataracts and Glaucoma, is actually curable nor do they have the resources to get the proper medical attention.
Together, we have raised $4,800+ over the last four fundraising periods. That means we have helped 160+ individuals receive eye surgery! ($30 covers 1 surgery).
- Sankara Eye Foundation is the largest free eye care provider in the world with nine hospitals performing approximately 150,000 free eye surgeries each year – more than 1.3 million to date
- 1/5 of the world's blind live in India
- 80% of the visually handicapped can be partially or fully cured
Thank you so much for your time and consideration and I look forward to any support you are able to provide. Please forward this to anyone you believe may want to contribute.
