Please help Eva Palma, a Guatemalan asylum seeker who has been in detention for almost 5 months. Her bond is set at $2,500. Her relatives are able to contribute $700 but can't afford to contribute any more money. She is the primary caretaker and bread winner for her three young children, who are still in Guatemala. If she doesn't pay her bond by November 2nd, she will be forced to file for asylum in California, which is a disadvantage to her because she plans to move to Atlanta upon release, since life is more affordable there. If she applies for asylum in California but moves to Atlanta upon release, her ability to get a work permit and support herself will be delayed. Let's help her get out of detention so she can move forward with her life, apply for asylum in Atlanta with more ease, and support her family back home! This is a time sensitive matter! I am in communication with her lawyer at Centro Legal de la Raza in Oakland. Please contact me if you have any questions before contributing. I can verify Eva's A#.
