BENEFITING: FLOW FOR WATER
THE STORY:
The battle for fresh water in the Great Lakes State is back, and we need your help RIGHT NOW to fight it.
Multinational behemoth Nestlé recently applied to the State of Michigan to more than DOUBLE its groundwater pumping to 210 MILLION gallons per year from the headwaters of vulnerable creeks in northern Michigan’s Osceola County.
FLOW needs your support today to defend our public waters, wetlands, and aquatic life, and shut down Nestle’s private water grab. The deadline to submit public comments opposing Nestlé’s application is March 3, 2017.
With your support, FLOW’s seasoned team of scientists and water-law attorneys, which includes successful fighters of prior Nestle water wars, will:
- Conduct a legal analysis of Nestlé’s groundwater withdrawal application to the state of Michigan;
- Complete scientific research on the long-term impact of Nestlé’s proposed increase in pumping;
- Circulate our formal findings for public sign-on and submit to the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality by March 3; and
- Educate and mobilize citizens to reject the proposal!
