THE STORY:

Super Typhoon LAWIN ( international name Haima) unleashed its raw power last Wednesday night, October 19, as it made its landfall over Cagayan Valley . This is a region located in the northern tip of the Philippines. Though there were minimal casualties reported , the magnitude of infrastructure and agricultural damages is enormous, declaring the entire region under a state of calamity. ALCALA is a small town of about 37,000 + people and is one among the areas that was badly struck. Many families lost their homes and to this day they are still without power. Agriculture is the main source of income in this town and LAWIN has indeed cause a huge dent in the town's livelihood . ALCALA is my HOME. This is where I was raised and the home of several generations of my family . My 92 year old mother, my brother and his family, other family members, childhood friends and many more individuals who are a valuable part of my family and I, live there and many of them were affected. Growing up in this humble little town has allowed me to appreciate life and the blessings I have. The ability to rebuild my hometown and provide assistance to many individuals and families is invaluable, but I cannot do this myself. I am therefore reaching out for any support you can provide through this fundraising account. This will benefit the LAWIN victims from home. Please feel free to share this information to those who wish to help as well. I sincerely appreciate your support and prayers. Thank you. Janette
