Help for victims of earthquake in Ecuador
Organized by: Leonor Lazaro
A terrible earthquake struck Ecuador last week. You have probably all seen the pictures of massive destruction. A lot of communities living in the coastal area have been completely destroyed. Help is coming from around the world, but some smaller communities have not been reached yet. I am raising money on behalf of a group of volunteers (Ecuadorians and expats) which is currently working hard in Jama and Don Juan, two small communities in the province of Manabi. It is a group of very committed people. Their short term goal is to be able to help building rocket and solar stoves, composting toilets, compost and recycling areas, and water catchment so as to avoid an outbreak of disease. In the long term, their goal is to help build permaculture gardens, plant nurseries, green houses. As you can see, sustainability and health conditions are a priority. They urgently need some funding in order to be able to buy materials. The more funds they get, the more victimes they will be able to reach! I would of course post regular updates on work in progress. Thanks to all of you in advance for your help. ECUADOR NEEDS OUR HELP IN THIS OVERWHELMING TASK!!!
