BENEFITING: Lowell, Habitat for Humanity of Greater
This spring Habitat for Humanity of Greater Lowell will begin construction on a single family, handicap accessible home on State Street in Tewksbury. This family of 5 has a son who is confined to a wheelchair and you can help make their cleaning easier.
We are launching a fundraiser to complete a low-income family’s home by providing a washing machine and dryer set. There are many families who do not have the ability to do laundry in the comfort of their own household. On top of working minimum wage, full-time shifts, these families are forced to spend many hours lugging around bags of clothes to and from the laundromat. If we raise just $1,100.00, a family will have access to clean clothes at a fraction of the time and cost.
Poverty plagues families all across the United States, including those close to home. Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization that works throughout 15 towns in the Greater Lowell area. Through the admirable efforts of thousands of volunteers, we have created 40 homes that have been granted to hard-working, low-income families in the community for substantially discounted prices.
