Help Heidi beat breast cancer!
Organized by: Reuben Butterfield
Surviving or thriving? There’s a big difference!
My life is blessed with my two wonderful kids and beautiful wife Heidi. But this summer, when Heidi was diagnosed with breast cancer, our lives went into a tailspin.
Although her prognosis is optimistic—the type of cancer she has is typically manageable—treatment will be a rough road over many months and will challenge our family on multiple fronts. Some of these challenges are financial, as we support Heidi’s recovery through medication, nutrition, increased child care, parallel treatments, and other incidentals we aren’t yet aware of.
One thing is certain, though: we want Heidi to thrive – not just survive – throughout and beyond her battle with cancer.
Please help us focus on our family, not our finances.
We are fortunate that most of Heidi’s major medical expenses are covered though our medical system. However, there are many coming financial burdens that could overwhelm our family during this difficult time. Rather than struggling to survive under the weight and stress of accumulating debt, I am humbly asking friends, family, and colleagues to help lighten the burden.
I’m asking that you become part of our family's support system, as Heidi goes through chemo and radiation treatments over the coming months. Your donation will help offset the cost of:
- Out-of-pocket medications not covered by provincial or extended coverage (anti-nauseants and immune boosting)
- Childcare costs for Noah ($1000/month we had not planned on)
- Healthy, nutritious foods
- Activities for the kids over the winter months
- Other peripheral unanticipated expenses sure to arise
We are holding to the vision of Heidi fully recovered, and our family emerging stronger after weathering this storm. This will be hard to do with a mountain of debt, which is why I’m asking for your help. I love Heidi and my kids so much—I want them to thrive!
Your support will make a big difference. Any amount helps. We are humbled and truly grateful for each donation! If you're interested in making a donation offline, or simply sending a message, please get in touch at any point.
Thank you for your generosity and caring.
Reuben, Heidi, Olivia and Noah.
