Help us help more people
June 02, 2017
BENEFITING: ARIZONA TRANSPLANT HOUSE FOUNDATION INC
EVENT DATE: Jul 11, 2017
Help In Healing Home (formerly known as The Arizona Transplant House), located in the Village at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona, is designed for those requiring a prolonged recovery, where the risk of infection is minimized, in a supportive environment that keeps them close to their medical professionals.
The Village consists of a grouping of small homes we call casitas. Each casita has six private bedrooms and bathrooms for patients and their caregivers.
For patients who undergo major surgery, such as the removal of a malignant tumor or the transplant of whole organs or bone marrow, recovery can require seemingly endless blood draws, biopsies, consultations, medication adjustments, and more. Contact with people may need to be restricted because of compromised immune systems.
They're designed so patients and caregivers can live comfortably. In addition, residents have access to a library, large living room, dining room, kitchen, outdoor patio, a business center with Internet, and a community center where activities abound. Bedding and bath linens are provided. On-site laundry facilites are available for guests' use.
Patients and their caregivers experience life-altering challenges that can leave them feeling isolated, overwhelmed, emotionally and financially devastated. That's where Help In Healing Home makes a difference. We provide shelter from the isolation and uncertainty, where patients and caregivers receive the nurturing they both need.
In addition to quality, convenient amenities and lodging, we provide the assistance of a compassionate staff and the companionship of fellow patients and caregivers who understand what patients ar going through - all at donor sustained, non-profit rate. In the face of mounting medical costs, this home-away-from-home is highly affordable.
As a 501 (c) 3 we are 100% donor sustained and rely on the generosity of others to help us keep operating and expand our mission.
