BENEFITING: Foundation for Foster Children, Inc.
EVENT DATE: Nov 07, 2016
THE STORY:
Over the summer, I heard of someone donating their birthday to an organization or cause they care about. I immediately fell in love with the idea and have been excited to do it since then. When Morgan & I moved to Orlando, she learned about Foundation For Foster Children, a local organization that provides kids in foster care with educational support, personal development, and guidance. They purchase laptops for teens who need them for college classes, pay for siblings who live in different foster homes to attend gymnastics together, and provide mentors for teens who are aging out of foster care to help them transition to adulthood (which I recently started doing!).
I spoke with them to see what their current needs are and I learned about the need to fund Karate classes for a first grade boy in foster care named Jaidynn. Classes are $84 a month, so raising $1,008 would pay for 12 months of classes. To help me reach this goal, I'm asking my friends and family to donate $26 for my 26th birthday on November 5th as a birthday gift to let Jaidynn take Karate lessons. It would mean the world to me and I'd really appreciate your support!!
