Help Jordan walk again
Organized by: Jordan Hills
Hello, my name is Jordan Hills and I am currently 32 years old and 2 years ago I was diagnosed with a very rare disease called Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis witch is basically a blood cancer, although it affects many parts of body in different ways, parts of my brain were damaged from tumors and as a result of that and the insuing treatments I am now in a wheelchair. In order for me to learn how to walk again I need some severe rehabilitation that I can not receive in Peace River, for some reason I don't qualify for the inpatient care i need so my only other option is to go as an outpatient, so I chose Edmonton so I can attend glenrose. The big problem for me is affordability, I need a place with less care than the nursing home I'm in now witch would be designated assisted living, because they all privatized they charge for everything over and above my rent. Being on aish is extremely nice but after they pay my rent i have less than 300$ left then I need a mandatory home phone to run call buttons in the room and have to supply toiletries and care supplies, my cell phone bill , 35$/month to keep my mobility scooter there and I need to get at least a few furniture items when I get there, my family just can't afford it right now, they definitely have they're own money problems and some of you might know that my immediate family is quite small as my mother and father have both passed. I want to do this bad! I definitely have the drive, I am currently on a waiting list for a transfer, please help me get started.
