BENEFITING: LEAGUE OF UNITED LATIN AMERICAN CITIZENS
In 2010 Youth Eagles Aviation partnering with the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) chapter 2060 has reached out and brought the exciting world of aviation to over 100 of our youth here in San Joaquin county. Using a hands on approach Youth Eagles uses a variety of teaching tools to provide both male and female students with knowledge ranging from basic understanding of flight to hands on flights with local EAA chapter 1432.
Through a donation from Build a Plane, Youth Eagles acquired a Cessna 150H. Named "Lil Red" students have been performing a full restoration, preparing it for its first flight. Our goal is to connect the mechanics of aviation with the excitement of actually flying and seeing how all the systems works together. The program promotes the student learning of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). The program is designed to challenge the students in using their critical thinking skills with problem-solving tasks, and working as team members and making team decisions. Social skills, leadership and civic duty are also program values.
Your generous donation will help to support the continuation of this program which currently is no charge to the youth. Help us to get "Lil RED" airborne
