In this sad moment, we need your help, please! Everybody is thrilled and excited to go back home, mostly when you are an international student studying here in the states. Unfortunately, and with a heavy heart, sometimes life is not fair!! Not at all!!
It was Sumit Shahi’s happy day to go home Nepal, he left for the Spokane International Airport, Washington with Mamta Kandel, Basu Kafle and Bikash Sigdel. But who would have thought what was waiting ahead? On the way to the airport, they had a severe car accident taking one of our dearest friend Mamta Kandel's life and leaving the rest injured. Sumit has severe bone fractures and needs surgery for his recovery. Basu has a shoulder fracture and Bikash has minor injuries. All of them are Nepalese students at the University of Idaho.
Mamta (21) herself was leaving for Nepal in the next two days of the incident. She was going home to see her mom, dad, and sister after two and half years. She was a big-hearted social worker who was working on helping trafficked girl and was going to Nepal to build a school. The work she had been doing can be seen at http://tinyurl.com/real-restoration and http://tinyurl.com/mamtablog. Her family is now in great pain, facing this unimaginable loss. Let us help Mamta’s family to see her body one last time and complete her final rituals. We would be highly obliged if we could raise some funds to support medical finances for Sumit, Basu and Bikash who are also in great shock and pain.
We look for your kindness and support in this hour of need.
