BENEFITING: GARRAWAY PERFORMING ARTS CENTER
My name is Janina Garraway and I am the CEO/President of The Garraway Performing Arts Center located in Pasadena, CA. Our mission is to provide a safe/inspiring environment for low income and foster youth to develop their minds, passions, and leadership skills through mentorship and the performing arts. We are launching this fall at the Jackie Robinson Center and Alkebulan Center and are looking forward to serving the community of Pasadena. As CEO, I have a strong desire to make a difference and uplift at-risk youth. I believe that a program like Leadership of Pasadena will only enhance my ability to be an effective community leader and bring positive change to Northwest Pasadena especially.
LEADERSHIP OF PASADENA is an 8-month community leadership training experience that combines personal leadership training with a comprehensive education on the Pasadena community's strengths, challenges and opportunities to help. Through a series of 2-day workshops taught by Pasadena experts and civic leaders, you learn all about the educational systems, civic and non-profit organizations, private and public employers, science and arts institutions, area economy and community safety and wellness matters. LP graduates emerge ready to make a big impact for good in our area.
