Moh Does Registered Massage Therapy
Organized by: Mohammed Al-Alwan
I came to this great Canadian country to flee discrimination & bigotry I faced in my native country. The people were more welcoming and accepting than I ever imagined which I so grateful for so it made me consider it as home. Since I came to Canada in 2010, I have worked several jobs to save some money in order to continue to further my education so I picked registered massage therapy to have a prospects for a better living as well as volunteer for my community for those who can't afford to receive a professional massages. Starting from May 2013, I successfully completed 15 months throughout the program. Unfortunately, in the remaining 3 months, I fell ill due to bad case of gastritis that caused ulcers, GERD (gastro-esophageal reflex disease) and bad case of irritable bowel syndrome which forced me to drop so many classes and so I had to put the program to halt until I feel better. in the next couple of years I had to focus on getting better which I did and now I want to continue to finish my program. Unfortunately, the private college which I paid my full tuition to has closed down and after further investigation I learned that I need to repeat another year to finish this program after transferring to another college. Now, OSAP is refusing to fund me further for what they claim is later on absenteeism which affected academic performance. I became very depressed as a result of those unfortunate circumstances . All I ask from from every generous soul out there is a little help to provide me with another chance to realize my dreams. I have strong faith in humanity and in God that I wouldn't be let down. I believe in humanity that stands together in the time of need. As once a wise man said: "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime".
