BENEFITING: 412 FOOD RESCUE INC
I'll be turning 44 on November 22. I was born on Thanksgiving day, and every few years I blow out my candles on a slice of pumpkin pie. But a lot of folks in Pittsburgh can't afford to put enough food on the table - in fact, one in seven families is food-insecure. In Allegheny County, that's 170,000 people in our community who don't know when their next meal will be - 43,000 of whom are children.
Help me use my mid-40's to fill some bellies and make a better holiday season for Pittsburgh families! I am an active volunteer for 412 Food Rescue, a Pittsburgh food recovery organization that collects wasted or extra food and distributes it to those in need.
Would you consider giving up a few Starbucks runs to help feed local families? It would make it my best birthday ever.
