BENEFITING: HELP ANIMALS INDIA
EVENT DATE: Aug 18, 2016
Firstly, a big thank you to everyone that helped to make the last HelpAnimalsIndia fundraising campaign such a huge success!
I’m hosting a second fundraising campaign for HelpAnimalsIndia (http://helpanimalsindia.org/) and hope that you all can join me to raise awareness and funds for the vulnerable stray animals of India. The funds we raise this time around are even more special because they will be directed specifically to Thane SPCA, a non-profit animal hospital and shelter based in Mumbai, which I personally visited in March. The founders, a beautiful and relentless couple, Shakuntala and Debashish Majumdar, do everything they can to rescue, rehabilitate and care for every animal that comes to them. It was one of my most memorable experiences to visit the facility and meet with the amazing founders, staff and animals. Please check out their website (http://thanespca.org/) for details as well as the attached pics (yes they care for baby monkeys and donkeys too!)
This time, our goal is to reach $2500 which will help fund critical surgical equipment needed to treat countless animals (e.g. an orthopedic bone cutter). To achieve this (and hopefully even exceed it!) a $25 donation is suggested; however any amount is greatly appreciated. At an exchange rate of $1 to almost Rs. 67, every dollar counts in supporting this very special hospital/shelter to achieve its goals. Online donations are encouraged from now through August 18th at which point a final fundraising event will be held.
The fundraising event will take place on Thursday, August 18th from 6-8pm at Madison Square Tavern (150 W 30th street, New York, NY). There will be a $10 cover of which 100% of the proceeds will be donated to HelpAnimalsIndia. In addition, there will be select drink specials from 6-8pm of which 15% of the proceeds will also be donated.
This is something that is very close to my heart and I hope that everyone will support me with an online donation and/or their presence at the event.
Together we can make a difference in the lives of the vulnerable animals of India
