Help Me Take My Dad To The Galápagos Islands

In the first semester of my freshman year I took Seminar Biology, the highest science class offered, and I was informed along with the rest of my class that we had been invited to the Galápagos Islands on a study trip. My teacher passed a paper around and if we wanted to go we signed up. I signed up and was very hopeful I could go, and take my dad as well. But as we learned in the information meeting the cost of that would be $7,205, way out of our budget. To most people the common solution would be to not take my dad, but what most people don't know is that there is a special reason I want to take my dad. He has brain tumors. They are non-cancerous but severely affect his memory, and as every day passes it gradually gets worse and worse. Meaning if my dad didn't get to go now he might not ever be able to do anything like that again and actually enjoy it simply because he can't remember and process what's going on. So because I have such a good relationship with my dad I decided I would do a fundraiser consisting of selling tickets for a prize to help fund the trip so he could go and have one last memorable, truly enjoyable experience. Throughout the course of selling tickets I realized we simply weren't going to be able to raise enough, especially when half of the earnings go to the winner. So I opted out of this years trip knowing I had the chance to reschedule to the trip that leaves on March 3rd, 2017. The money I had already put toward this years trip can be spent on next years trip. Luckily my dads memory will be good enough to enjoy a trip next year but any much longer than that is very unlikely. The reason I am setting up this fundraiser now is because the first payment of $934 is due August 5th. The original payment was $1,003 but with the $670 I raised towards it that's the new cost. Now $934 may sound manageable but when the only income is my dad's disability check, which is a little over double that, all of sudden the cost is almost unbearable. So my ultimate goal would be to raise the total cost of $6,535. The minimum goal would be to raise $2,500 by July 1st. The reason the goal is so soon is because they need a commitment from me assuring them I will be able to afford the trip this time, and $2,500 plus all the other things I'm doing to raise money would allow me to do this.
