Help Me to Teach You to Help Them!
Organized by: Valerie L COOPER
Have you ever watched your injured horse in pain and wished there was something, anything you could do to help? While you wait for the vet, you can make your friend as comfortable as possible, and support their healing and recovery by taking an equine first aid course from ME! Teaching others to administer First Aid to their horses is what the 3-day intensive training course involves. Once certified, I will be able to teach the information and skills to children and adults, seasoned horse people and first time horse owners alike in a one-day, hands on seminar. I have owned horses since growing up in a remote community of the Yukon, a five hours’ drive from the nearest vet in Whitehorse. I am a knowledgeable horsewoman, a Veterinary Technician, and I have worked as a Laboratory Animal Technician at the University of Alberta and the University of Calgary, caring for animals with precision and compassion. I am keen to share both my formal knowledge and my years of experience with owners, clubs, and individuals who want to be prepared as a horse’s First Responder. My mare, Toi, is bomb-proof and delighted to support me by being repeatedly bandaged by students. The Instructors course I wish to take costs $3,000 and will allow me to be a valuable resource to the equestrian community around rural Calgary. Please help me to help horses and give owners peace of mind as an Equine First Aid Instructor!
