About International Justice Mission (IJM):
IJM is a non-profit organization that is committed to protecting the poor from acts of violence. They do so through empowering teams of local lawyers and police forces to relieve victims through effective casework, ensuring that perpetrators are held accountable for their actions, and providing holistic aftercare for the victims.

Hello! My name is Megan Silvestri and I am passionate about pursuing justice through judicial system reform. A broken justice system will leave holes in the framework of a developing society, and most often it is the poor who suffer from acts of injustice such as assault, exploitation, theft, and murder. God calls us to serve the poor and defend the case of the widow and orphan, and it is God who champions for the widows and orphans that IJM serves in Uganda (Isaiah 1:17). International Justice Mission has given me the opportunity to learn from Ugandan lawyers, investigators, and system reform specialists and to aid IJM's mission in Uganda of making justice for the poor possible. I am currently working with a team of investigators to collaborate with the Uganda Police Force and prepare cases of land grabbing.
My internship with IJM is unpaid and I am confident that the Lord will provide the necessary funds to keep me here for exactly as long as He has purposed me to be here. I am so thankful for all of my generous financial supporters who have allowed me to serve the Kampala team in restoring widows and orphans to their land, and I am equally grateful for those who have given their time to support me through prayer. Please give as you feel led and feel free to contact me with any questions:
