Every 2 hours someone is shot in Chicago, every 11 hours someone is murdered. Donate to help families of victims in their grief journey
Every shooting and homicide create a whirlwind for the people who are related to the victim. Parents, brothers, sisters, spouses, and children lives instantly change forever when this occurs and too often they are left on their own to deal with the issues that result from this violence.
Over the past two summer's I have spent a weekend volunteering at the Sheilah A Doyle (SAD) Camp. SAD Camp is a free grief camp for children and siblings who are affected from homicide in Chicago. This camp provides a resource for kids to meet other kids who have been through similar strategies and work with licensed professionals to learn tools to help them in their grief journey.
Meeting the campers, volunteers, and everyone involved in running the charity has drastically changed my perspective and my life.
How can you help?
Donate money. Share on social media. Seriously, do one of these two things now, even if it is only a few bucks.
100% of the money raised from this fundraiser will go directly to the Sheilah A Doyle foundation.
