PLEASE HELP ME SAVE MY MOM'S 79' CAMARO
Organized by: Regina Brown
From the moment my mom laid eyes on her 1979 Camaro, she just knew she had to have it. She lost her battle to cancer 14 years ago, but the memories of her and this car mean so much to me as it is the only car I ever remember her driving. After my mom’s passing, I started to fix it up; I put brand new engine into this car along with a lot of other new parts. The hours, sweat and tears made this car even more special to me. But unfortunately, due to my irresponsible past, the car was impounded.
I have been in constant contact with the tow yard ever since the car was taken and on several occasions, I have expressed to their secretary about how much my mom’s car meant to my family and I. She was so moved by my story that she notified her boss/owner and for some strange reason he has continued to hold on to the car. Usually a car like a 1979 Camaro would have already been sold or salvaged for parts, but I believe that by the grace of God that he has found it in his heart to hang on to the car these past 2 years; in hopes that I will be able to come up with the money for the tow and storage fees. I truly feel that it is because of God that the car is still at the tow yard. I was told that the owner has never done this for anyone else and I feel truly blessed just because it.
I currently reside at Shepherd’s Gate which is a Christian based program. I have been living here for the past 8 months. Since I am not able to work until after the completion of this program, I am asking for help with raising funds to save my mom’s car. This car is really the only thing I have left of her. It breaks my heart to know that my carelessness has caused so much pain to my family so I am hoping that God will put it on your heart to help me in my efforts of getting it back. Any contribution would be more than greatly appreciated. On behalf of myself and my family, I thank you.
