Help Save My Business
Organized by: Jeffrey Robinson
Hello my name is Jeffrey Robinson and I need your help. On July 20 2016 there was a fire in the building that I emergencyoperate a Fish and Chips restautant. The building is a small three story walkup with two residential apartments on the second and third floors. My restaurant is located on the ground floor. The fire started on the second floor in one of the residential apartments. The fire travelled out the window and up the front of the building. 95 percent of the fire Damage (sidding) was done to athe exterior of the building. Very little damage was done to the interior of the building. And little damage was done to my restaurant. My problem is the owner of the building lives in Gyana and has no insurance, and the work thats needed to get this store open is not getting done. The owner his brother and their crew of guys actually renovated the building one year prior to me openings my store. The owners situation is that he has the funds for materials and to pay for the labor. But he has no funds to file the nessary paper work to obtain builder's premits and a set of blueprints that's needed to start the work. This is what your funds will be used for. In exchange for you help he will give me a lifetime lease and deduct the funds raised from my rent. My intentions are to not repair the entire building but to make the building structural sound so that the restaurant can reopen. In 2008 I was fired from my job as a graphic designer after 19 years of service. It was easier to replace me with a kid straight out of school than to pay me at a rate that was fair due to my almost 20 years of service and experience. So i left, and one year latter opened a restaurant. That was a dream of mine for a very long time. It's been a long hard struggle that I Ioved every minute of. We Just turned the corner, and started to make some money and then the fire, the nightmare. Please help me wake up. Thank you for taking the time to read this post. Any help that you may provide would be very greatly appreciated ...
