Help Tecara Monn get to The Peoples Congress
Organized by: TeCara Monn
My name is Tecara Monn, I am a mother of four beautiful children, a northside resident and also one of two canvass directors for Neighborhoods Organizing For Change, My journey at NOC has surely been one to remember. I got involved with NOC when a canvasser knocked on my door and i heard about the amazing things that NOC is doing for communities of color in Minneapolis, soon after i was volunteering every week and not too long after that i was hired on to do canvassing and after really investing myself into the work i was promoted to canvass director. I have so much love for my job at NOC because there is always potential to grow personally and professionally and i have learned that the best way to grow as a person and an organizer is to learn from others. On July 8th, I will be attempting to fly to Pittsburgh,PA to attend The Center For Popular Democracy’s people congress. The congress will be a gathering of thousands of organizers, leaders and activists who will come together for a weekend long event focused on building power for our communities and our organizations, there will be so many workshops i want to attend and learn from. My only issue is with four kids and a ton of bills i cannot financially bear the burden of buying a flight to Pittsburgh. So i am asking for help from my community to help me gain the skills necessary to take the next step in my journey from leader to organizer. My goal might be very small to you but it’s a big lift for me and my family. If there is anyway you can find it in your heart to help me in this time of finacial need i promise i will reciprocate your help, by continuing to fight to build a stronger community with the new skills and information i will learn at The Peoples Congress. If you can give any small amount it would mean so much to me and my family.
