BENEFITING: HAITIAN ROOTS
Tedd is one of our students at the Haitian Roots Academy. He is 4 years old and lives outside of Port au Prince, Haiti with his parents and 3 siblings. He has a condition called Congenital Glaucoma and is in need of surgery to relieve the fluid build up which has caused blindness in his right eye, is causing him constant pain, and threatens to cause many more problems.
Generous doctors in Dallas, Texas have volunteered their services to provide the necessary surgery and follow-up care for free. If Tedd needs to have his eye removed, a prosthetic has also been pledged. Individuals in Haiti have come to his aid to help get the necessary paperwork together. His family is so very grateful! However, even with the generosity of the physicians and others, Tedd still needs about $4,000 to pay for the paperwork necessary for him to obtain a visa in Haiti and for travel.
Haitian Roots is giving their all in an effort to break the cycle of poverty and bring hope to Haitian children by providing high quality education. Tedd is attending school but is in so much pain and at risk for additional complications, including losing his eye, and risk of infection which could even lead to death...if this surgery doesn't take place then providing him an education may not make any difference for him. Tedd and his family, as well as those involved in getting him the visa, providing surgery, and taking care of him in the US are extremely grateful for your willingness to help.
Your donation is tax-deductible. Any amount is greatly appreciated. Thank you for helping to change Tedd's life.
