The Felidae Centre is a wild cat rescue centre located outside of Kimberly, South Africa. They have several prides currently on the farm, one of which was saved from canned hunting (when lions are raised in captivity and then sold to game hunters to be shot). Their work force is primarily made up of volunteers from around the globe, ranging from the United States, United Kingdom, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Singapore and more! Those wishing to help can visit for several weeks or several months at a time. To accommodate the lions on the farm a new enclosure needs to be built. It will be 150 hectar and give the lions the ability to roam and feed in a similar manner to living in the wild. Help protect and enrich the lives of South Africas biggest cat! Updates on the centre can be seen on their facebook page, found by searching Felidae Centre.
