Update #5 - WE DID IT!
May 01, 2016
BENEFITING: The Church of St. Luke in the Fields
EVENT DATE: May 01, 2016
"The Church" is a non-denominational Saturday night drop-in program at the Church of St. Luke in the Fields for homeless and marginally housed LGBTQ+ youth between the ages of 14 and 24. Located in the West Village, we offer performing and visual arts workshops, a "pop-up" shop with gently used seasonal clothing, on-staff social workers, a nutritious meal, legal services, and HIV/STD testing. In addition, we aim to distribute MetroCards every Saturday evening to our clients.
By donating to our MetroCard campaign, you can help our young people access to a wealth of necessary resources including medical appointments, shelters, job interviews, food pantries, and vocational training. Often overlooked, MetroCards allow clients to stay connected to the programs available in the surrounding borroughs. By providing equal access to transportation, you can give our youth the opportunity to reach a better destination.
The base subway or local bus fare is $2.75. Every dollar makes a difference. Donate today!
