Help this yoga mommy get back to yoga!
Organized by: Megan Rowlands
Help! I'm a yoga teacher and mom of two beautiful children. My pregnancies where very difficult as I suffered from Hypermeisis Gravidarum (sick all day every day) and had trouble getting adequate rest, exercise and nutrition. Yoga helped me recover after baby #1 and led me on an incredible personal journey that led me to become a yoga teacher myself . I loved to share this wonderful transformative practice! Baby # 2 was another tough pregnancy suffering with HG and my poor girl was born with a heart defect and needed to spend her first month in the hospital and underwent open heart surgery. My pregnancies have left me with an abodominal hernia and a 7 inch overhang of skin, stretch marks and excess weight. The stress of having my daughter at risk led to some pretty bad coping and sugar binging that only left my hernia worse. I've been waiting for almost two years for surgery, but I am not considered a 'priority' inspite of this greatly reducing my quality of life, ability to teach and do my yoga properly, and causing much pain and embarrassment. Not being a priority in the medical System and not having private insurance leaves me with little options. I'm hoping there are other mothers out there that also believe mothers body's are important and that a mothers Health should be a priority! I am desperate to return to feeling like an important human and getting back to teaching yoga again! I cannot afford to cover the cost of funding the surgery myself and have been told I will have to wait and to go to emergency if it gets worse. Please help me take control of my life, heal my core, and get back to living again! Mothers are worth taking care of too!
